Meet Dr. Landon Pryor, MD Plastic Surgeon at Face Works Plastic Surgery, Serving Chicago, Schaumburg, IL

Landon Pryor, MD, FACS, discovered his passion for anatomy, along with human form and function while in medical school and was immediately fascinated by the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery.

“Patients experience immediate results and significant improvements in their quality of life”, says Dr. Pryor. “It’s an extremely rewarding transformation to witness.”

As a plastic surgeon who works with patients of all ages, he also enjoys the diversity of his patient population and the long-term relationships he builds with them and their families. With each patient, it’s Dr. Pryor’s goal to provide comprehensive aesthetic treatment recommendations for the face and body, including both surgical and noninvasive options.

Dr. Pryor is Board-Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Other professional associations include the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery , and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Pryor received his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. After completing his degree, he began his General Surgery and Plastic Surgery residency at Akron General Medical Center and Summa Health System. He then completed two year-long fellowships: Pediatric and Craniofacial Surgery at the Children’s Hospital of San Diego with the University of California San Diego and Aesthetic Surgery and Breast Reconstruction at the Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Pryor’s passion for health and wholeness took a new direction in 2018 when he partnered up with Laura Bowden, a long time survivor and advocate for patients with Breast Implant Illness (BII). Using his background and expertise in breast cancer reconstruction, Dr. Pryor embarked on a crusade to help women suffering from BII by founding what is now known as the PryorHealth Centers of Excellence.

As part of this initiative the Center is focused on three pillars – great clinical outcomes, education, and research. Dr. Pryor’s reproducible clinical and surgical technique has enabled the training of future explant surgeons, having completed over 500 explant surgeries at his Center. Pryor also regularly lectures medical students and other professionals to raise awareness in the medical community about Breast Implant Illness. Finally, in collaboration with medical students at the University of Illinois – Rockford, Dr. Pryor and his team have received grants, scholarships and awards for their clinical research on BII. Their mission is to continue to educate the public about BII and provide credible resources to patients to allow them to heal from their journey with breast implants.
